Appearance: Shadowdance is a strong and slender she-cat with dark, sleek fur. Her fur appears to be black within dim light, but out in the sun her pelt becomes more noticeable. Darker streaks of black glimmer under her dark pelt as the sun hits her fur. The she-cat is a little smaller than average with a silky tail. Shadowdance has striking pale blue eyes, which are pronounced more with her surrounding dark fur.
Personality: Shadowdance, born into ShadowClan, is a stubborn cat, period. She does not like to be corrected, nor does she like to admit when she has wronged. The ShadowClan she-cat has a hard time trusting other cats, even some within her clan. For her own personal reasons, Shadowdance has put a false front and most times comes off as an icy individual with a large ice chip on her shoulder. Deep down, however, the she-cat is as loyal as any other cat within her clan- and although she would never admit it, willingly, she would give her life for any of her clanmates.
History: Shadowdance was the only kit of her mother and father, and when she was nothing but a kit a bond deepend between Shadowdance and her father. She was, is, most like her father in more ways than just appearance- strong, determined, stubborn. She never took well to listening to her mother and more than once stirred trouble while attempting to follower her father out on patrols. She soon lost her father to the Thunderpath, and she understood that she was the cause of her father’s death- she had snuck from her mother and stumbled onto the Thunderpath, attempting to follow her father. He had died saving his only kit, and because of losing her father, whom she was closest to, Shadowdance turned inward and shoved everyone who tried to get close away. She only allowed her mother, stricken with grief with the loss of her mate, into her somber heart. Tawnyflower, her mother, only knows the soft side of Shadowdance.
As she grew older and became an apprentice, Shadowdance focused harshly on her training and fighting- improving her skills until she lived up to her name and became nothing but a dark shadow on the battle field- oblivious to the eyes of her enemies. She had lived up to her name in another way as well. After her father’s death, she became nothing more than a shadow of her old, spirited and wild self. Her mother still lives, as an elder who retired early from being a warrior due to loss of sight.
RP Example: Shadowkit grimaced as she braced herself for her mother’s rough tongue. She felt her mother’s purr against her side as she was pulled closer by her mother’s forepaw and flicked her tail in annoyance as she felt her the rough skin of her mother’s tongue. It had begun. Shadowkit squirmed and mewed her objection, attempting, only in vain, to detach herself from her mother’s grasp. “Hold still, my dear,” Her mother whispered, her honey-sweet voice almost calming Shadowkit at once. For a moment, only a moment did Shadowkit hold still. Then, as if tricked by her enemy, Shadowkit began to struggle again. Exhausted with fighting her mother, Shadowkit calmed and finally stilled, allowing her mother to finish her cleaning in peace. Next time, Shadowkit thought to herself, closing her eyes as she breathed in her mother’s warm scent. Next time I will triumph.
